Indoor Soccer
For almost a year, I have been involved in Friday's Indoor Soccer Club which takes place during lunch. I joined this activity which the intentions of improving my soccer skills and for learning new skills by playing with people I do not normally play with. Every Friday during lunch, our maths teacher makes three or four teams and we play short five to ten minute games before rotating.
I really liked this activity because as I am doing the IB Program, I no longer do sports during school time, and Indoor soccer is a nice way to still integrate sport during school hours. By playing with people I don't usually play with, it creates a new and interesting challenges for myself as a player, but also benefits me in a way in which I can learn new skills and tricks that I don't learn at my normal football team.
As I can no longer play soccer due to an injury, I still go and watch every Friday during lunch, not only because I miss it, but it also shows that I show commitment and perseverance in the activities I pursue. I hope to start playing again soon and joining the Friday lunch time games soon, but until then, I can be creative and think of another activity I could do related to sport such as coaching or refereeing.

As an extra extracurricular activity outside of school, a team was formed from the indoor soccer group to play against another school. It was one of the first sport teams the school formed whilst also playing competitively. It was exiting to be part of the school's first football team and hopefully this will continue in the future. We did end up losing because the other team had been training competitively for a much longer period of time, but in the end, it was still a really fun experience. Below is a picture of our whole team.
Learning Outcomes
Show perseverance and commitment in your activities.
Because I was not able to play most of the games due to an injury, I still went down every Friday to watch the games and cheer on my friends. It shows that I still try to make an effort to remain committed to my activities to the best of my ability.
You have developed new skills.
I have been playing with a football team here in Australia for about three years, and in those three years I have become really close with my teammates and I have gotten used to their skills and our team tactics. Playing with the school, it is indoor soccer and it was the first time I had done it, but over the years I have leanred and adapted the way I play.
