ISWA Memory Box
Since shortly, a few students in year 11 created a new club at the school known as the Memory Box Committee with the intentions of creating a book filled with all the funny moments and memories secondary students have experienced this year. It consists of drawings, quotes and pictures and is completely designed and created by the students themselves. It is not to be confused with the yearbook, as it is not that formal, but it will be a collaboration effort of the students who are involved in the club.
The committee does not only design and create the structure of the book, but we also need to fund-raise all of the money needed to publish the book which will be done by organizing chocolate sales and events within the school. All of the profit we make will then be donated to charities or causes.
By joining the committee, I have personally realized how much organization needs to be put into action in order to produce the final outcome. This has made me meet my deadlines more precisely and has made me more efficient when working. This skill has been critical when completing my homework assignments and projects.
One of my personal strengths is that I am quite artistic and that I like to do art in my free time. I feel like this can be a big advantage towards the committee so I put myself up for being a co-designer and help with the structure of the book. By taking this role, I do not only develop my artistic designing skills, but I also can share my knowledge with the other member of the committee.
I have never published a book before and that's why this is an exiting and new experience for me. To produce the book, we will have to work a lot with Photoshop which is quite new for me, but it is a challenge I am willing to take.

Learning Outcomes:
You have developed new skills.
Before joining the memory box, I had no idea how to work photoshop or edit pictures on the computer. Through the help of my peers and people leading the club, I was able to learn something new with a lot of practice. It only goes to show how regular practice and the help of peers can easily lead to the ability to learn and apply a new skill.
